Labels
Labels normally are produced in very high volumes and printed with braille for use in the pharmaceutical industry. Because of the high makeready costs, printing is only cost-efficient for long print runs.
But only small to very small volumes of labels are required for e.g. pharmaceutical reimports. With the Xdot, labels can be produced efficiently and in a quality that meets all standard specifications.

Pharmaceutical folding cartons
Under the European Medicinal Products Directive (§ 10 para. 1b), all folding cartons must be provided with information in braille. The name of a medicine must appear in braille on its packaging. For short runs, embossing is not cost-efficient because of the high makeready costs. The Xdot supports a flexible production process, giving all folding carton manufacturers an economic advantage.

Booklets
Booklets often are included on drug packaging. They contain all the relevant product information and the package insert. With the Baumer hhs Xdot, braille can be printed directly on a booklet. The cured UV coating is easily readable for visually-impaired users.
